At the practice, it is on average one missed appointment per day, cancelled or moved at the last minute.
On the scale of a patient, it is only one appointment and it is not dramatic.
On the scale of a dietician, it is :
2.5 hours per week
or 90 hours per year, which represents 2.5 weeks.
You want to have 2.5 weeks of unwanted and unpaid leave per year?
You understand better why any appointment forgotten (despite a SMS reminder), moved or cancelled at the last minute will be charged.
For you it’s just an appointment, for other patients who wait weeks or months for an appointment it’s unnecessary waiting time and for me it’s involuntary unpaid leave.
It’s a great gesture of respect if you can’t make the appointment to cancel it at least 48 hours in advance.
