This month I’m not posting a recipe because I get to spend the whole month hospitalling at Lambano Children’s Hospice in Johannesburg. Lambano Sanctuary specialises in the holistic care of children suffering from life-shortening illnesses and in supporting their families.

The team makes every effort to provide the best possible care for the children and their families, despite many adversities and especially financial constraints.

I am very grateful to be here and to be able to watch and learn from their work.

It makes you realise how lucky we are with our health care, health insurance system and overall living conditions.

To experience the gratitude of those who actually have nothing is very humbling.

If you have anything to donate that can help Lambano and the whole team, please think of them: everything from nappies, baby food, clothes, money is needed.

Feel free to check out their work:
